Open by default
Your styles and tiles stay in open formats (PMTiles, GeoParquet), portable by default. Switching costs you no migration. COG and Zarr support are on the roadmap, not shipped yet, so today Carto styles render PMTiles.
How it fits ELEMNT
- Add places. Pair Carto with ELEMNT Place to put open POI on top of your basemap.
- Automation ahead. Agent access and developer tooling (a CLI and a Python SDK) are on the roadmap, not shipped yet.
